Last night didn’t go quiet as planned. W was meant to be coming along, to chat, catch up, and maybe play. Unfortunately, he had car problems on the way and didn’t make it, which was a shame. However, I did have a very good night!
Lots of chatting and catching up with a couple of friends. Thinking up ways to stop certain male parts “wobbling around” during play (staples and ribbon were mentioned!) and a very intersting mummification demo. I’ve done some mumification before, so I know what it feels like, but it was quite an honour to see someone being wrapped for the first time ever as part of the demo. She seemed to really enjoy the experience and had quite a big smile on her face at the end of it! And of course, the second demo “victim” was as bratty as ever!! I do feel sorry for people who play with me in the future – I have spent quite some time learning to brat from the best!!!
I also had an appointment yesterday morning to check out my health before I start heading to the gym regularly. Aparantly my blood pressure and resting pulse are fantastic, my waist is larger than it should be, and i’ve got some weight to loose, but I’m really motivated to change those things! My induction session is on Tuesday afternoon, and I’m actually really looking forward to it!!
My last bit of news – I have finally got my network cable, and it all works, so hopeully I should be able to announce a date for PigCam very, very soon!!!

That’s right, today is the start of my new habit (which i blogged about here). So in the spirit of being “accountable” to all you readers out there who are following me, I’m sitting here, post dinner, with my cup of green tea! Day one has been successful!!
Anyways, in more interesting stuff, i had my attention drawn earlier today to the fact that the third series of Secret Diaries of a Call Girl has recently started. For anyone who doesn’t know, the programme is based on the writing of the one and only Belle De Jour who blogged anonymously about her life as a high class escort, and finally revealed her identity to the world back in November. I have to admit, I never really followed her blog until recently, but I have had two of her books on my bookshelf since they were released, and I followed the first series of Secret Diaries religiously! So yes, even though I never followed her blog, I loved Belle’s style of writing and the fact she did genuinely seem to be a very intelligent woman who enjoyed her job.
Where am I going with this, you may ask? The answer – to this programme (apologies to my non-UK based readers, I’m not sure if you’ll be able to view this, or not.) Which is an interview between Billie Piper (who plays Belle in Secret Diaries) and Dr Brooke Magnanti, the real Belle. It was interesting to see Brooke talking about herself and her time as an escort, but one thing really struck me about her – she does not apologise for her choice of job. She went into it knowing what she was doing, and she got out of it what she wanted to. Then when she was ready, she quit. She does admit openly that her experiences of escorting aren’t the same as a lot of people’s exeperiences, and that she was lucky to have a good time with it.
Possibly if Brooke wasn’t who she is, if Belle had turned out to be a chef, or a waitress, or a hairdresser, there wouldnt’ have been as much interest in what she has to say now. But Brooke is an intelligent woman (and a Dr!), and it is great to see someone that the media can’t portray as “a poor little victim of the sex industry”, and someone who actually says “if you wanna do it, just make sure you think carefully about why you’re doing it”. Some of her opposition accuse her of glamourising prostitution, i dont think she does. She just tells us about the side of the industry that the media never want to report on – the good side!
